19. Maria Barbara CLAPP was born about 1742 in Oley Twp., Berks Co., PA. She died about 1807 at the age of 65 in NC.

Maria Barbara CLAPP and George CORTNER Sr. were married about 1760 in Orange Co., IN. George CORTNER Sr., son of Peter GORTNER and Mary (?), was born on 5 May 1738 in Forestville, Shenandoah Co., VA.19 He died on 5 February 1819 at the age of 80 in Guilford Co., NC.19 He was buried on 8 February 1819 in Brick Church Cemetery, Guilford Co., NC.19 After the death of is father, George and Peter,Jr made the migration to Orange Co., NC. They would be among friends and former neighbors. George Cortner was a Regulator, a member of the NC Provincial Congress in 1775 (Col. Recs. of NC vol X. PP. 165,168, and 172), and a North Carolina Continental soldier during the Revolutionary War. he and his wife Maria, had ten children, identified in the division of his 256 acres of land after his death (Guilford County Deed Book 49, PP 20-23, recorded 9 April 1820). Two "sons" listed in DAR and other records, Peter and Jacob, belonged to other families and are not parties to this division. Four of their children married first cousins, Mary, Eve, Barbara and Matthias.

Margaret "Peggy" CORTNER was born on 4 January 1772 in Guilford Co., NC. She died on 3 December 1845 at the age of 73 in NC.2 She was buried on 5 December 1845 in Brick Church Cemetery, Guilford Co., NC.2 Aged maiden lady. Never married.
