Final rites for Daniel Edward Clapp of Lakeside avenue who died on January 21, were conducted on Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the residence by the Rev. George E. Dillinger, pastor of the First Reformed church. Members of the choir, accompanied by Mrs. Herbert W. Coble, furnished music.
Pall bearers were: George Fowler, Duncan C. Bryan, John R. Hoffman, E. M. Cheek, Paul Jenkins, M. G. Pickett.
Flower bearers were: Mesdames D. C. Bryan, and Elsie Kennedy, in charge, assisted by members of Circle No. 2 and Flora Sharpe Bible class of the First Reformed church Mesdames E. M. Cheek, Geo. Fowler, T. C. Andrews, Walter Askew, M. G. Pickett, B. M. Clapp, Wyatt Clapp, Sherman Ross, Glenn Ward, R. D. Tickle, Frank Loy, L. W. Love, J. C. Shepherd, S. P. Whitt, Paul Jenkins, Grady Beck, C. E. Mize, C. T. Ward, Lacy Brown. He was buried on 22 January 1940 in First Reformed Church, Burlington, Alamance Co., NC. Buried at Pinehill Cemetery.
