Clapp and Beatrice Murry Clapp, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during World War II and President of Clapp Brothers Furniture. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Graham. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Kathy Williams and husband, Eddie of Melbourne, FL; a son, Mr. Jerry Clapp and wife, Patsy of Graham; a sister, Miss Edith Clapp of Graham; a brother, Mr. Wade Clapp and wife, Brenda of Haw River; a granddaughter, Cameron Williams; and a step-grandson, W. Marshall Sykes. He was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Lane Vincent and two brothers, Earl Clapp and Edward Clapp. The funeral service will be conducted at the First United Methodist Church of Graham on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. by Dr. Kenneth Hall and Rev. Don Swinney. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The body will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to the First United Methodist Church of Graham, 303 North Main Street, Graham, NC 27253.
