Dawn Clapp Simerly, 29, Shelbyville, died at 4:05 a.m. Friday, Feb 12, 1999, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born July 3, 1969, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Earl Thomas and Evelyn Marie (McNicholas) Clapp, and her father survives. She married Tim Simerly, and he survives. She was presently employed by Brown and Williamson Tobacco Co. from 1998 until the time of her death. She had previously worked 10 years for Enro Marketing (also known as Speedway Stores). She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1987. She was raised in moscow and lived most of her life in Shelbyville. She attended the McKay Road Baptist Church. She was also an assistant Girl Scout Leader for Troop 1261 and a member of Starlight International.
In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by two daughters, Aleigha Desiree Simerly and Allyson Chelsee Simerly, both at home; two sisters, Debbie Harper of Shelbyville and Karen Neighbors of Vincennes; four brothers, Tom Clapp of Waldron, Bob Clapp of Greensburg; Carl and Jim Clapp of Shelbyville' four half brother and sisters, and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Home in Shelbyville, with the Rev. Rod Beheler officiating.
Burial will be at Lewis Creek Cemetery in Shelby County.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
memorial contributions may be made to a trust fund for Aleigha Desiree Simerly, 8, and Allyson Chelsee Simerly, 5.
Dawn was buried on 16 February 1999 in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery, Shelby Co., IN.
