Earl Thomas "Tom" Clapp, 75, of West Lafayette, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008,
at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette.
Born Dec. 9, 1932, in Decatur County, he was the son of Elbert Gordon and
Elsie Clyde (Feezell) Clapp.
Survivors include his sons, Tom (wife, Lisa) Clapp of Waldron, Bob (wife,
Robin) Clapp of Greensburg, Carl (wife, Tina) Clapp, Jim (wife, Holli)
Clapp, both of Shelbyville, Paul (wife, Kim) Clapp of Swiss City and TJ
Clapp of Washington, Ind.; daughters, Debbie Blevins of Shelbyville, Karen
Neighbors and Stacy Clapp, both of Vincennes, and Tomette Willis of
Washington; brothers, Paul (wife, June) Clapp and Glen (wife, Florence)
Clapp, both of St. Paul; sister, Ruth Ryle of Greensburg; 27 grandchildren;
and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dawn Clapp Simerly; and
two sisters.
Mr. Clapp lived in the West Lafayette area for 14 years. He previously lived
in St. Louis.
He had been a truck driver with several different companies for more than 40
years. He retired in 1994 from C.V. Sohn of St. Charles, Mo.
Mr. Clapp was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He had attended St. Paul High School.
Mr. Clapp was a member of First Assembly of God in West Lafayette and
American Legion Post No. 70 in Shelbyville.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Glenn E. George Funeral
Home, 106 E. Franklin St. in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the
Rev. Greg Hackett officiating.
Burial will be in Van Pelt Cemetery in Shelby County, with military rites
conducted by local veterans organizations.
Memorial contributions may be made to Indiana Veterans Home of West
Lafayette, in care of Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin St., St.
Paul, IN 47272.
He was buried on 5 April 2008 in Van Pelt Cemetery, Waldron, Shelby Co., IN.

Evelyn Marie MCNICHOLAS, daughter of Lewis Gary MCNICHOLAS and Edna Bertha GLACKMAN, was born on 9 May 1937 in Bartholomew Co., IN. She died on 30 September 1998 at the age of 61 in Hancock Memorial Hospital, Greenfield, Hancock Co., IN.3001 Died at 7:50 am, Wednesday at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield, IN. Died of cancer.

Evelyn M. Clapp, 61, Shelbyville, died Wednesday at Hancock Memorial Hospital.
Born May 9, 1937, in Bartholomew County, she was the daughter of Lewis G. and Edna Bertha (Glackman) McNicholas.
Mrs. Clapp had lived in Moscow before moving to Shelbyville in 1984. She had been a child care provider in her home for many years.
Survivors include three daughters, Debbi Harper and Dawn Simerly, both of Shelbyville, and Karen neighbors, Vincennes; four sons, Thomas G. Clapp, Waldron, Robert A. Clapp, Greensburg, and Carl E. Clapp and James B. Clapp, both of Shelbyville; three sisters, Mrs. Ron (Donna) Gilles, and Mrs. Steven (Theresa) Comstock, both of Shelbyville, and Dorothy Smith, Johnson City, Texas; three brothers, Maurice McNicholas, Taylorsville, Charles McNicholas, Marietta, GA and Donald McNicholas, Shelbyville; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother.
Services wil be at 10 a. m. Saturday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service with the Rev. Rod Beheler officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelby County Cancer Association.
