Daniel Rankin Shepherd, aged 83 years, died yesterday afternoon at his home in the Brick Church neighborhood, where he had spent his entire life except a few years he resided in Indiana. He had been sick a long time, and his death was not unexpected.
Funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at Brick church by his pastor Rev. C. E. Hiatt, and interment will be made in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters and a son, Misses Elizabeth and Emma Shepherd of the home and W. M. Shepherd, Burlington and one brother, Riley Shepherd, of Guilford county. He was buried on 17 May 1931 in Brick Church Cemetery, Guilford Co., NC.⁸²⁰
