Mary Ada Clapp, 90, Waldron, died today at 1 a.m. today at the Heritage Manor. She had been in failing health for five years.
Mrs. Clapp had lived in Shelby County for the past 50 years. She was a housewife and a member of the Waldron United Methodist Church.
Born Sept. 3, 1892, in Union Co., TN., she was the daughter of Riley and Mary Meltabarger. She was married to john Clapp, who died March 23, 1971.
Survivors include six children, Mrs. Clyde (Gladys) McClain, Deland, FL., Mrs. Herbert (Mary Ann) Bowman, New Waverly, Ind., Mrs. Norman (Barbara) Thompson, Indianapolis, Ross Clapp, Kouts, Ind., Troy Clapp, Shelbyville, and Coy Clapp, Shelbyville; 21 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Two sons, six daughter, two brothers and two sisters preceded in death.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. a.m. Wednesday at Carmony Funeral Home, with the Rev. Don Rissler officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Van Pelt Cemetery.
She was buried on 26 January 1983 in Van Pelt Cemetery, Waldron, Shelby Co., IN. Services were at Carmony Funeral Home, Shelbyville, Indiana. Minister was Rev. Donald Rissler. Walker book has her birth date September of 1894, page 133.
