M. Clapp, of Frazarville, was drowned while endeavoring to swim the river to some hooks set on the opposite side. Messrs. T. Y. Mason and T. B. Williams were fishing with him at the time and saw him go under, but before assistance could possibly be rendered, the unfortunate young man sank to rise no more. dilligent[sic] search has been made by quite a number of people for the recovery of his body, but so far without results. Mr. Clapp was about nineteen years old, son of Suff. Clapp, and a most estimable young man, and will be greatly missed in the neighborhood in which he lived.
