CLAPP Jr. was born on 26 December 1815 in Guilford Co., NC.164 He died in January 1870 at the age of 54 in Colorado Co., TX. Baptized 17 Mar 1816, Frieden's Lutheran Church, NC. He was a planter and slave holder before the Civil War. He migrated from Guilford Co., NC to TN about 1839 and by 1850 was living in Texas. In April 1861 he enlisted in Company A of the Fifth Texas Calvary, under famous Tom Green. He was the father of six sons, all of whom enlisted for Civil War service. Winifred "Winney" COBB, daughter of Jacob COBB and Winifred BENEFIELD, was born in 1820 in Guilford Co., NC.164 She died about 1867 at the age of 47 in TX.164 Jacob C.
