Mr. Clapp was one of the best men in the county, a good citizen and in every way worth of the high respect in which he was held by the people of this county. In next week's issue of the Citizen we will give a more extended tribute to his memory. Mrs. Belle Lee Clapp Last Saturday morning at 1:00 o'clock Glidden lost another of its best citizens. Mrs. Belle Clapp died after a lingering illness that had sapped her strength steadily the past few months and had kept her bedfast for several weeks. Mrs. Clapp was born December 21, 1864. She married Robert L. Clapp in 1892. This happy marriage was dissolved by the death of the husband in 1917. Mrs. Clapp moved to Glidden some fourteen years ago and was much loved for her neighborly, helpful attitude toward all. Mrs. Clapp was converted and united with the Baptist Church when she was twelve years of age, and was a faithful supporter of the Kingdom of God where ever she lived. She was affiliated with the Baptist Church at Glidden at the time of her death. The funeral services were conducted at the Church she loved, by the Rev. Wm. D. Wyatt of Columbus, assisted by J. Melvin Ray of Beaumont. Interment was in Ijams Cemetery, some eight miles southwest of Columbus.
