Gaines, a tract of land recorded in Book 11, page 374, dated 7 Jul 1834 in preparation for his move to Bledsoe Co., TN. On April 3, 1834 he bought from John Brown of Sullivan Co., TN. a tract of land containing 300 acres on Cumberland Mountain, on the waters of Brush Creek, recorded at Pikeville, Bledsoe Co., TN. On Sept 7, 1854 he conveyed this tract by warranty deed to Robert Sargent, recorded in Book M, pages 92 and 93. He was enumerated on the 1840 U.S. census as a resident of Rhea Co., TN (also 1850). He owned property on the west bank of Big Richland Creek, between Morgantown and Smith's Cross Roads, name later changed to Dayton, TN. Jacob was a wheelwright by profession. Jacob FOUST and Susannah Lewiza EDGEMAN were married on 15 January 1817 in Sullivan Co., TN.526 Marriage date from Foust book. 8 children. Susannah Lewiza EDGEMAN, daughter of Samuel EDGEMAN and Margaret GAINES, was born on 2 July 1793.162,526 She appeared in the census in 1870 in 8th District, Rhea Co., TN.
