Died 22 Aug 1934 at the age of 12 (?) He came from Tenn. to Mills Co., Iowa by covered wagon, with his family. His father was one of the early settlers of that area. Alex as he was known, farmed for many years in the Rock Bluffs, Nebr and Murry, Nebr area. In the early 1900's he ran the Hotel in Murry, Nebr for about ten years. In his younger days he served as a woodsman and participated in the falling of trees for the lumber that was used in the construction of th first homes in the locality of Rock Bluffs and Murry, Nebr. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and playing the violin. When he was a young man, he had a Thomas Fiddle given to him, it was an old fiddle at the time. The Graves family all liked music. He also used to make knives. Married June 22, 1865, in Lowden Iowa, to Arminda Jan Bomer, (born June 1, 1848 in Little Rock, Arkansas, did April 24, 1939). Both are buried in Rock Bluffs, Cemetery, Rock Bluffs, Nebr. She pieced quilts and done some very nice needlework. Member of Odd Fellows Loadge, Christian Church. Have 8 children.
