He was born September 2, 1910, in Ozark and was the son of Sam and Gena (Page) Brazeale. On February 7, 1931, he married Iva Jane Skaggs. Mr. Brazeale was a farmer and a dairyman. He was a member of Selmore Baptist Church where he taught the Men's Sunday School Class for thirty-one years. He was also a member of Ozark Chapter #98, Order of the Eastern Star, and Ozark Friend Masonic Lodge #352 A.F & A.M. Survivors include: his wife, Iva; five children, Gena Liner, Plainview, Texas, Joe Brazeale and his wife, Fran, Ozark, Charles Brazeale and his wife, Ina Rae, Paris, Rachel Robertson and her husband, Dale, Ozark, and Ruth Faerber and her husband, Bob, Kirkwood; two brothers, Herbert Brazeale, Springfield, and Lyle Brazeale, Halltown; a sister, Geraldine McIntosh, Springfield; two half brothers, Jack and Bill Brazeale, both of Springfield; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a half sister, Eilene Maples. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 1997; in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Rev. Tom Maples officiating. Burial was in Selmore Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Selmore Baptist Church. She was born March 23, 1909, in the Riverdale Community, and was the daughter of Charlie and Nora (Raper) Skaggs. On February 7, 1931 she and Walter Page Brazeale were married. Together they farmed and made a home for their five children south of Ozark. Mrs. Brazeale was a member of Selmore Baptist Church, and Ozark Chapter #98 Order of the Eastern Star. She was active in the Christian County Home Extension Service Clubs and 4-H Clubs. Her husband preceded her in death on March 28, 1997, as well as her parents and a sister, Mabel Collins. Survivors include: five children, Gena Liner, Plainview, Texas; Joe Brazeale and his wife, Fran, Ozark; Charles Brazeale and his wife, Ina Rae, Paris, Mo.; Rachel Robertson and her husband, Dale, Ozark; and Ruth Faerber, Kirkwood; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Skaggs, and Oscar Skaggs, both of Ozark; and a sister, Muriel Tennis, Fowler, Colo. The funeral was Thursday, May 14, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Rev. Tom Maples officiating. Burial was in Selmore Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
