548. Phoebe LUGAR was born in 1784 in VA. She died on 7 March 1854 at the age of 70 in Craig Co., VA. Buried in Ross Cemetery, Craig Co., VA.

Phoebe LUGAR and Jacob MCPHERSON were married on 8 February 1802 in Montgomery Co., VA. George Lugar signed as surety for their marriage.
Jacob MCPHERSON, son of Alexander MCPHERSON and Mary WEEMS, was born on 19 July 1781 in Montgomery Co., VA. He died on 5 February 1857 at the age of 75 in Craig Co., VA. Son of Alexander McPherson, he donated land and built a log school. Antioch Church (now Gravel Hill Christian Church) was started in their home. Jacob was the first elder. Issue 10.
In 1807, Jacob was Constable of Giles Co., VA.
A stone memorial has been erected in the Ross Cemetery in the Sinking Creek Valley in memory of Jacob and Phoebe, but their actual burial site is on the mountainside near their home in a family cemetery.
