2nd I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Catherine, during her natural life all the Stock and personal property of which I may be in possession at my decease, also the plantation, on which I now reside but should my daughter Polly become of age or marry and desire it she shall have the east half of said farm for her benefit. Nevertheless I reserve to my wife the right to get firewood of any part of the whole farm she may choose. And my wife may, if there is any stock or property she does not want to keep may sell or dispose of the same in anyway she may think best and after the death of my wife the whole of the home farm shall go to my daughter Polly, but in the event of her (Polly) dying without an heir then I direct the place to be sold and all the proceeds of said farm and personal property to be equally divided amongst my lawful heirs.
3rd As I have heretofore given to each of my children that have married personal property and horse saddle and bridle worth one hundred dollars (except) Matilda, I direct that when her son James Gideon Roberts shall become of lawful age that he receive out of any personal effects if he come forward and claim it in person, one horse saddle and bridle, worth sixty dollars and also three hundred dollars with what interest but may accumulate on said sum from this time till he shall arrive at lawful age and in the event of his dying in minority the worth of said horse et (et al) together with the money shall be equally divided amongst my lawful heirs. I estimate to her at six hundred fifty dollars and that she also have horse and other property worth one hundred dollars and lastly after the deceases of both me and my beloved wife Katharine I direct that my heirs unitedly join in advertising and selling my remaining estate on such time as they shall think best and that they so divide the notes arising from said sale as to make them all equal and that each one collect his or her own part and should my grandson J. G. Roberts not become of age during my life the three hundred dollars now at interest my son Barnhart, shall take charge of and hold for same James G. Roberts till claimed as above specified, and that my son Barnhart shall have my blacksmith tools at ten dollars and I wish it further understand that no interest shall be charged on any advances that have been made till the final settlement and that Christian and Polly are not to get anything more than is above specified till all the rest shall have received enough to make them equal with theirs, also my son Barnhart shall also have my wearing apparel with out charge.
