Our sympathy is extended to Mr. Joe Clapp in the death of his father, Mr. E. D. Clapp, who died at San Felipe last Friday in the sixty-third year of his age. The remains were shipped to Eagle Lake on the Santa Fe Saturday morning and taken to Ramseyville where the funeral was held. [unknown probably Alley cemetery]

Co. L, 13 Texas Vols. (Cavalry, Artillery and Infantry) Known at various times as the (Btes) Reg't Texas Vols. and Brazoria Coast Regiment. Confederate Private. Enlisted in what became 1st Company G, afterwards 2nd Company C, 13th Texas Infantry, on 6 Jan 1862, at Velasco; promoted to Corporal, 11 Jun 1862; granted 30 day sick leave, 2 Nov 1863; granted 26-day furlough, 13 Jul 1864. Eli Dawson "Doss" CLAPP and Caledonia C. WRIGHT were married on 30 March 1867 in Colorado Co., TX.164 Clapp, Elo D. (groom), received a license to marry Callie Wright (bride) on March 30, 1867, but the license was not returned and no date of marriage or other details are given, (Marriage Book E, page 64).
Caledonia C. WRIGHT, daughter of William J. WRIGHT and Sarah Anne PIGFORD, was born on 30 September 1830 in MS.164 She died on 7 September 1870 at the age of 39 in Colorado Co., TX.164 She was buried in September 1870 in Wright Cemetery, Colorado Co., TX.
