Funeral services for the Rev. Floyd J. Hanks, 64, of Springfield, who died Sunday morning in Springfield Baptist Hospital following a lengthy illness, were held Tuesday afternoon in Immanuel Baptist Church, Springfield, of which he was a pastor for 14 years. The Rev. Oscar Pigg and the Rev. E. L. Brock officiated, and graveside services were at Selmore Cemetery under direction of Rainey of Springfield. Rev. Hanks retired from active ministry four years ago because of ill heath. He was the son of "Uncle Tommy: Hanks, pioneer Christian County minister and Circuit rider, who was widely known throughout the Ozarks area. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Hanks, of the home at 1215 West Walnut Street, Springfield; three sons, Dorrel T. Hanks, Bill G. Hanks and Ray Dean Hanks, all of Springfield; two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Skidmore of Springfield and Mrs. Floryne Thompson of El Reno, Okla; two brothers, Emery Hanks and Loyal Hanks and a sister, Mrs. Nola Payne, all of Ozark; 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was buried on 25 April 1961 in Selmore Cemetery, Finley Twp., Christian Co., MO.¹⁸⁵⁴
